The Shop
As Confucius once said
‘Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it’.
Here at The Old Haberdashery we believe in the spirit of Wabi Sabi, a rustic simplicity and a beauty that comes with age. Reuse, recycle, rediscover and celebrate the patina of age.
Homewares
Our vintage homewares span most of the 20th century; from the Victorian era up until the 1970’s.
It’s an eclectic mix but we think you’ll love what we have chosen. Beautiful china, unusual glassware, eclectic artwork and a myriad of oddities and curiosities.
These are things we feel will easily slip into your modern urban interior, cosy cottage or country pile.
We also stock many new and useful everyday homeware essentials from tea towels to wooden spoons to artisan mugs to French soaps.
Textiles
Most of our textiles have been pre-loved. From eiderdowns to curtains, crochet blankets to embroidered tablecloths, saris to hand loomed linen we have an ever changing selection.
They may show a few signs of age but we feel this adds to their charm.
Find a piece you can’t live without and think of a new way to use it – make it into a cushion, use it as a curtain, frame it. The possibilities are endless.

Haberdashery
Intrinsic to the joys of making we have a diverse and ever-changing range of notions for sewing, knitting and crochet. Yarns, ribbons, string and buttons galore. Scissors and needles, bells and die-cut fabric leaves. Appliques and decorative enamel pins.
We have tried to pick vintage, recycled or the unusual but always the useful. It all boils down to texture and colour. If it sings to us we’ll snap it up.
We also stock Merchant & Mills notions, Tulip needles, Linladan linen threads and things to make by Nancy Nicholson, Cotton Clara and Sarah Young.
